Hello!

My name is Gina Battani, MPA, BSN, RN.

For nearly two decades working as a registered nurse, I have led with advocacy and servant leadership. Iowa Foundation for Resilient Communities values respect for people, inspires community engagement, speaks to lived experience, and empowers social change.

A passion for gender equality, human connection, and positive change is how I adapt and persevere in the face of adversity. Iowa Resilient Communities honors the daily grind, the grit, and the grace it takes to RISE Beautiful™.

After navigating Iowa’s criminal justice system as a victim of sexual assault and domestic abuse assault, I discovered my call to action; to organize, develop, and implement solutions to building safer gender-equitable, and inclusive spaces free of gender-based violence., drive social action, and foster greater community resilience.

OUR VISION

OUR VISION

OUR VISION

We believe we have neglected to see the full impact gender violence & intimate partner violence has on our community. We need survivors of abuse to feel that we care about them and acknowledge what happened to them is wrong and our prevention strategies & polices are here to protect them and our community is here to support them. We need to acknowledge the connection between human dignity & humiliation and how this leads to gender violence.
